Western Computer has been providing IT solutions to the education sector for the past 26 years, primarily Apple based but also encompassing a variety of third party products.The core focus of this role is to engage with schools, colleges, and local authorities and to demonstrate the benefits of implementing Apple based solutions as part of the learning platform. Apple have had considerable success in this market sector and you will have one of the strongest brands to sell.
Job Purpose:
Proactively approach all schools within a sales territory with a view to becoming their preferred Apple provider. Identify key personnel within institutions, approach them and seek a face to face meeting. Explain the entire range of services and solutions that we provide, demonstrate core Apple technologies such as iPad iOS, Mac OS X and iLife.
Generate opportunities to provide system proposals/quotations, follow up and close the business. Identify potential marketing/event opportunities such as Teach meets or Technology days where we could further promote our services within the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Achieve a monthly and annual sales target
- Deliver sales activity reports and sales forecasts
- Maintain a sales pipeline, prospect list and client database
- Administer/maintain Apple education rebate claims
- Approach all academic accounts within your sales territory by phone, email or letter
- Identify key decision makers and seek an introduction meeting
- Build personal relationships and maintain them with regular contact
- Develop and maintain a set of key accounts
- Communicate/demonstrate our solutions
- Identify potential opportunities to market our service, events, trade fairs, teach meets
- Manage all aspects of the relationship, sales, service, training – account manage
- Attend Apple and third party training
- Sustain and develop product knowledge
Key candidate qualities:
- Have an understanding and passion for Apple technology
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Smart appearance
- Ability to engage with all levels of management and SLT
- A friendly, confident personality
- Be able to quickly establish and maintain personal relationships
- Good administration skills
- Be well organised and posses good time management skills
- Have an understanding of the academic sector from either previous sales or working experience
- Hold a good level of basic IT knowledge
- Ability to work alone and as part of a team
- A desire to deliver an exemplary customer experience
Ideally you will live in or around the Oxfordshire area, you will primarily work from home. You will be required to attend our Bristol head office on a monthly basis for sales meetings and product training.
